Prior Lake resident Jon Conlon announced that he is running for a seat on the board of Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools in the upcoming election.
Conlon, a 15-year community member and father of three children who currently attend PLSAS schools at the elementary and middle levels, has been actively engaged in district discussions focused on academic achievement, fiscal responsibility, and supporting teachers and families through alignment on the district’s Strategic Plan.
Professionally, Conlon has a 20-year finance background, having worked for Fortune 500 organizations. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Founder of Waev Inc., an electric low-speed vehicle OEM, bringing experience in transparent decision-making, accountability and strategic planning.
“As both a parent and professional, I believe strong schools are at the heart of a strong community,” said Conlon. “My focus is on ensuring academic excellence, especially in core areas like math, while maintaining responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources. I want to bring a parent’s perspective to the board, one that values collaboration with teachers, transparency and setting our students up for long-term success.”
Conlon emphasized that his decision to run stems from firsthand experience as a parent with multiple years in the district.
“I’ve seen what’s working well in our schools and where we can continue to grow,” Conlon said. “I want to be a voice for families and ‘Laker Pride’ while working constructively with educators, leaders and the community.”
Voters will be going to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4, to decide who will fill one open seat on the PLSAS board in January 2026.
